Forge with Intention Blacksmithing School was founded by David and Anita Yeh Norrie. In 2008, they began converting a 1902 farm, with its 11 outbuildings, into an artist's playground in Colorado. What was once an implement shed is now the well-equipped, expansive forge housing Forge with Intention Blacksmith School. A dairy barn is now a painting studio, while an old horse barn houses a drawing room, music room, and offices. A small grain silo has been converted into student housing. For $30 a night, students have a unique sleeping arrangement with access to hot showers and a small kitchen facility.
In 2018, Otto Engel joined the team. He took his first blacksmithing class here in 2010, then traveled the world for 8 years learning to forge. When he returned, he took over the forging studio, teaching and running his own business, Innovation Forge.
In 2026, Otto and Holly bought the farm and school business from the Norries and have big plans to keep the Forge with Intention Blacksmithing School growing!

David is an artist blacksmith and sculpture. Anita is an artist, decorative painter, and art therapist. Together they started Davita Art Farm, and Forge with Intention/The David Norrie Blacksmithing School.
